Fisher's Freedom Festival
Charlie and I took the kids (and met up with Lisa, her mom and her kiddos) to the Fisher's Freedom Festival parade. We discovered an awesome new park as well. The parade was very "hometown" and long but our kids loved watching and eating popcorn. After the parade, we played a little in the park and took "the kids" home (in Charlotte's words). I then took her back to the fireworks for a "big girl date". What fun we had!

Love Grows Best in Little Houses
I heard this sweet song recently and it reminded me of our home... A little small, we are growing out of it. We purchased our 1st home when Charlotte was just 11 months old and it was quite fitting for a family of 3. Three years and two more kids later with everyone sleeping in just 2 bedrooms (although we do have 3)and too many chairs for our little kitchen table, we are so blessed to be living in our "little house". Our kids live in excess... too many clothes, too many toys and a lot of love! I secretly loathe the excess of the clothes and toys and quite often gather things to give away - again, we are so blessed to both still have jobs and can afford everything we need. Maybe our small house isn't so bad after all...
"Love Grows Best in Little Houses" by Doug Stone
A little white house, in the heart of town,
On a little sad street, just a little run down,
Became a home, for Bill and Sue,
Two newlyweds, who did the best that they could do.
And when they brush each other, passin' in the hall,
Sue would smile and say: "This place is pretty small.
But you know, love grows best in little houses,
With fewer walls to separate,
Where you eat and sleep so close together.
You can't help but communicate,
Oh, and if we had more room between us, think of all we'd miss.
Love grows best, in houses just like this.
Before too long, Sue and Bill,
Were makin' plans, for Jack and Jill.
Oh, happy day, when the news came in
But what to do, when they found out Sue was having twins.
When they could not pass each other in the hall,
Well, Sue would smile and say: "This place is really, really small.
But you know, love grows best in little houses,
With fewer walls to separate,
Where you eat and sleep so close together.
You can't help but communicate,
Oh, and if we had more room between us, think of all we'd miss.
Love grows best, in houses just like this.
That little white frame house still keeps them warm,
Though it's been thirty-two years, since the kids were born,
And when they look back now, they hold each other tight,
And whisper in each other's ears: "You know you were right.
Because love grows best in little houses,
With fewer walls to separate,
Where you eat and sleep so close together.
You can't help but communicate,
Oh, and if we had more room between us, think of all we'd miss.
Love grows best, in houses just like this.
Yeah, love grows best, in houses just like this.

Have you seen the latest Tostitos print ad?
Only available in men's magazines and after 9pm on television!
I hadn't checked the girls outside in about 15 minutes and this is what I find!

Charlotte the Ballerina
Charlotte has loved being a ballerina since she received "Bella Dancerella" from the Kane family for Christmas. This summer, she chose to take ballet instead of gymnastics. We think this suits her personality a little better than gymnastics. Our future gymnast isn't quite old enough yet to be enrolled in a class.

Sprinkler Time
Summer is upon us and I love to put suits and sunscreen on, turn the sprinkler or sprinkle ball on and push the girls outside for the day! We have quite a few water activities available in the backyard but the favorite is to put the sprinkler on the little slide and a way they go! The girls also have fun with their umbrellas pretending to be in the rain.

Charlotte's Big Trip
Charlotte travelled to FL with her "memaw" (my mom) to Florida a few weeks ago to visit Caroline's family. Well, actually, Charlotte got to go play and Mom got to help Caroline because at this point, she was still nursing a broken foot. Now, she is nursing a surgically fixed broken foot. I am very proud of her that she took is SO easy - laying in bed for 9 days! Charlotte had a great time playing with Jules (her "best friend cousin") and the other Kane kids. She adores all of them. Charlotte says that Andrew is very nice, she loves to play with Katie because she is a big girl and just thinks that Matthew and Will are hilarious! Charlotte did suprisingly well - no crying when she left. She told me that I couldn't cry. She is growing up so quickly right before my eyes!
