Conner Prairie

Last Saturday while I was sleeping (between working), Charlie took the girls to Conner Prairie for a farm like event. They went with Charlie's good friend Joe, his son Evan and his parents. His wife Michelle had to work the weekend as well. The girls had a great time with the "pioneer experience" and its only about 15 minutes from our house!

Vocabulary of a 3 year old

A few of Charlotte's new favorite phrases:

*Absolutely not (to us)
*Absolutely yes (when we use the above)
*Here is your tea my lady
*His name is Cooper, not Bubba (to Emma Kate)

What will she think of next... this is just a small list!

The anatomy of a 17 month old's lunch

*Turkey and cheese picked off wheat bread... how dare my mom try to get me to eat healthy wheat bread.

*Smashed up chedder cheese chips... she tries to please me but I am still angry about the wheat bread.

*Mostly eaten chocolate chip cookie that my sister snuck to me because I was crying.

*All I really want is my milk cup that I threw on the ground in my fit of rage.

This is why we eat at home!!

Funny hats

Who knew that one hat could be such a hit!

Everything is funny when you are 1!

Emma Kate is always finding new and creative ways to use ordinary things. Here she shows us her proficient sunglass wearing skills. She is also quite creative in "how to use a bow to make people laugh"!

Charlotte's 1st day of preschool

Charlotte had her 1st day of preschool at Christ United Methodist Preschool today! She was very excited about the idea of going to school with a backpack and actually went to bed on time last night! One of her teachers took the kids back a couple at a time. She said she was ready to go when the teacher asked her, she took Mrs. Carson's hand and didn't even look back (or say good-bye)! We were quite suprised that she were no tears shed (by her or me!). When I picked her up, she told me she colored me a picture, played with the dolls and the sand table, and had goldfish and water for snack. When I asked if she wanted to go back (no choice really), she replied with and enthusiastic "Of course"! We are so proud of our big girl!!

A tribute to Labor Day

Okay, not exactly LABOR DAY, but my labor days! We are excited about Cooper's labor day as well although it will be some time away.

Please excuse the hugely fat face but after 22 hrs of labor, 3 1/2 hrs of pushing and an almost 9lb baby, I didn't look that bad in the moment!

(Did Charlie have the baby or did I? But not quite the same as Sean sitting in Caroline's hospital bed!)

I keep looking better at each delivery! Maybe this time I will come out with a little liposuction and a flat belly!!! A girl can dream...
