SAHM Revelations

Since Cooper is now 8 weeks old, I had been a SAHM to 3 kids 3 and under for the same amount of time. I have compiled a list of my SAHM revelations over the last 8 weeks:

1) It is perfectly acceptable for the kids to wear pajamas all day if we aren't going anywhere.

2) It is perfectly acceptable for Cooper to wear pajamas all day if he doesn't leave the car seat when we are out.

3) Again, it is okay if I don't leave the house... I put on a shirt this morning thinking it was clean. I realized it wasn't when I was drying my hair and left it on! Winter weather=not going anywhere unneccessary. Whats a little extra dried baby spit up anyway? I will have to change my shirt at least 2 times today anyway:)

4) I know now there are actual Play-Dough scissors. You shouldn't let a 3 yr old use real scissors on Play-Dough b/c little sister will get a new hair cut.

5) It is okay to let a newborn sleep in the swing, swinging all night. Emma Kate did it too and she is a much BETTER sleeper than Charlotte ever was. PS... don't tell my pediatrician!

6) I don't want to be a permanent stay at home mom or even a mom on maternity leave during the winter again. I like to open the back door and say "GO PLAY". We do have a fence. This mom doesn't do winter activities!!

7) The house needs cleaned much more when we are home all day!

8) God bless all the SAHMs... especially my mom when she had 4 kids and my sister who has 5 kids!

9) I pray for our babysitter everyday that she continues to be able to watch my children!

10) I am thankful that nurses will always be needed even in the terrible economy! I love being at home with my kids but working nights gives me a good break without missing out on too much! They are just sleeping right?!

Charlotte's new 'do

Emma Kate the Romanian gymnast!

Charlotte called me into the dining room at lunch today because she had too much hair in her lunch! I know I don't wear a hair net like a lunch lady but I didn't quite understand until I saw the floor next to the table and Emma Kate's crazy new hair do! We promptly went to get hair cuts - Charlotte included! Don't mind the swimsuits - they are excited for summer. I must say, with Emma Kate's build and her new hair cut, she might be able to participate in the next summer Olympics on the Romanian gymnastics team!

Psuedo Smile

Cooper has been giving us little smiles for about a week although it is very hard to capture one. Here is our best so far!

Emma Kate and Cooper

While Charlotte was at school, I tried to take some pictures of Emma Kate and Cooper. However, she was too interested in her can of mixed nuts to really participate!

Playing in the snow when its 45 degrees

While Cooper and I took Emma Kate to get her stitches removed, Charlie took CHarlotte to play in the snow. We still had a lot but it was VERY warm. She even got to play at the park.

Snapperz x2

We went to Snapperz, an indoor playland, twice last week. The first time we went with Kim and Krysta and their kids and then we took Charlie back over the weekend. Emma Kate was, of course, not scared of anything, even the huge slide! Charlotte suprised us and even went down the slide head first and backwards!

The Octomom

Why does Emma Kate strangely look like the "Octomom"?? Maybe she will end up looking like Angelina Jolie... Emma Kate, not the Octomom!

Who knew!

I birthed such a large toddler! Everyone just thought I had an 8 lb boy but really it was Emma Kate's clone! My friend Emily took this picture at the hospital when EK decided to be the baby.

Cooper 1 month

Hello, my name is Cooper and I am addicted to my mommy's milk... and I'm very cute!

10#14oz

23 1/2 inches

Oh, Emma Kate

Emma Kate is quite the sneaky, fiesty girl. She takes her diaper off at least 5 times a day after she has peed. She just says "pee" and "owie". She also takes anything that you might be able to stand on to climb up onto anything. On Saturday I found her naked and climbing on everything. The pictures were 2 hrs apart. Don't you think a girl that can figure out how to get into a hamper shouldn't be sucking on a newborn pacifier?!

Football Fan

Someone forgot to tell Cooper that the Bears weren't in the Super Bowl. Charlie has always been a huge Bears fan and even more so now that Kyle Orton is their starting quarterback.

Isn't he cute!

When we told him his team wasn't playing, look how mad he got!

Snuggle Bugs

CHarlotte loves to hold Cooper and especially to snuggle him with supervision. She can even hold him on the bed by herself if Emma Kate is still in bed. She is a great big sister!

Look at this shiner

Here is Emma Kate's first battle wound that needed stitches. She has had plenty a bloody lip and bruises however. Cooper's dresser won the battle but Emma Kate is sure to win the war! She is one tough cookie. She obviously was scared and cried during her 4 stitches (I'm glad I decided to take her - I wasn't sure it was deep enough. That's a nurse for you!). When she was done and got the cheers and clapping from the doctor, nurses and paramedics (yes, it took 4 people to hold fiesty Emma Kate down after she was wrapped) she ran into the hall yelled "bye bye" and ran out the door! She then proceeded to climb on a swivel chair with wheels. It won't be the last time in the ER for Emma Kate. She climbs on anything that has legs and boxes and anything else you can think of!

Thank you to my work friends who took care of Cooper and Charlotte up on the floor!
