Emma Kate has been toddling around for just over a week. She really started to take off on Monday when I picked the girls up from the babysitter. Charlotte always yells "Mommy!" and runs to give me a hug. Emma Kate saw me, used the couch to stand up and made a "beeline" for the door. She bypassed me and didn't even wave goodbye. We are now enjoying the warm weather and that both girls can play in the backyard. We are perplexed, however, why Emma Kate mostly just yells and grunts. She has 3 words... dada, mama, nana (night night). Just understands much more and can sign quite well for just being 12 months. See knows ~7 signs (thirsty, drink, eat/hungry, more, all done, hello, goodbye. We are working on please and thank you, but Emma Kate tends to just grunt and scream while signing "more". As Charlotte says, "She is loud!". I am going to video our little monster walking tomorrow and will try to figure out how to post it.
Recently Charlotte decided she loves art. This week she is very interested in scissors, hence the many toys she has cut, Barbies that now have mullets and cute dresses that can no longer be worn. Charlotte has lost her scissor privelages. Charlotte is no Emma Kate in the sleeping department. Charlotte will stay up as long as you let her and will not sleep in her "super duper" bed but only prefers ours. She fell asleep tonight in her big girl bed wearing a Sleeping Beauty dress, holding Cinderella - a small victory on my part even though I will see her in about 3 hrs!
